IN THE SPRING OF 1986, Per Gessle and Marie Fredriksson, both with a successful solo career in Sweden, decided to record the dance pop single ‘Neverending Love’. They called themselves Roxette! And it was the beginning of an amazing career that after 20 years and 15 albums released… is back!

Roxette have sold over 46 million albums since their international debut with ‘Look Sharp’ album, in 1989.

Their singles have topped every chart in the world including the Billboard Hot 100, where they’ve had four #1’s: ‘The Look’, ‘Listen to Your Heart’, ‘It Must Have Been Love’ and ‘Joyride’. ‘It Must Have Been Love’, soundtrack from the classic movie ‘Pretty Woman’, has been played over 4 million times on U.S. radio and recently Per Gessle received a BMI Award for this and also for writing the smash hit ‘Listen to Your Heart’, which was covered by D.H.T. and became the ‘Dance Song of The Year 2005’.

During their extensive worldwide tours, ‘Join the Joyride’ in 1991/92 and ‘Crash! Boom! Bang!' in 1994/95, Roxette have visited every corner on the world, performing to more than five million people. They were one of the 1st group to have the permission to play in China. In South America, Roxette sold out all tickets to the concerts in Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Uruguay.

Their latest studio album, ‘Room Service’, released in 2001, was also a million-selling album. It included more three strong hit-singles in the charts around the world: ‘The Centre Of The Heart’, ‘Real Sugar’ and the well-succeeded ballad ‘Milk and Toast and Honey’, that was soundtrack of a famous soup-opera in Brazil. The album success was followed by another tour. This time an European Tour because the September 11th incidents.

Talking about Roxette, the numbers never lie: All albums had multi-millionaire sells all over the world.

In 2002 Roxette was struck by a tragedy when Marie Fredriksson was diagnosed with cancer, a brain tumor which was immediately removed though surgery. After extensive treatment and re-habilitation, Marie is now fully recovery and slowly getting back to recording and performing again.

During this period, Per Gessle returned to his solo career in Sweden releasing 5 solo albums and going on 4 tours, one of them was the most seen in Europe in 2004, beating Madonna and U2! Per also released the international project “Son Of A Plumber”.

To celebrate Roxette 20th Anniversary, the fans were presented with a 'Rox Box' with Roxette career revisited in 4 CD’s, 1 DVD and a book. The celebration also included a new collection album ‘Roxette Hits’ with their major hits and two new singles: ‘One Wish’ and ‘Reveal’, first songs recorded after Marie’s recovered.

In may of 2009, Roxette announced the official comeback to the spotlight in a press conference in Holland, during Per Gessle solo Tour, 'Party Crasher European Tour'. This return was expected by the fans during 7 years! A new album is being recorded with the previous release in 2010. Meanwhile Roxette goes on a promotional Tour in Europe called ‘Night of the Proms’, from October till December of 2009.
